Hurricane Severity Index
The Hurricane Severity Index (HSI), helps scientists figure out how severe a hurricane will be, amount and type of damage, height of storm surges, how long the hurricane will last, where the hurricane will strike, rainfall amounts, and height of offshore waves. The HSI is more accurate that the Saffir-Simpson scale and is better for predicting damage.
